Katie McGlynn has revealed the "mixture" of reactions she got as she was announced for Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Coronation Street star will make her debut on the BBC One show on Saturday as the 2021 series launches.
Katie joins the likes of BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, Loose Women star Judi Love and EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
When she was announced for Strictly, the soap actress said she was "chuffed" as she's very much a superfan of the show.

"I wanted to do Strictly this year because I watch it every year and I'm always flabbergasted at how much fun the contestants are having and I've always secretly.... not secretly.
"I'm always excited and want to do it myself so the opportunity arose this year and I just had to do it.
"It will be a dream come true," Katie said during a press event that included the Manchester Evening News.
But when asked what her family and friends' reactions were, Katie laughed: "It was a mixture.
"It was all positive but I remember my dad just started laughing and said to me, 'Kate, please don't fall over,' because I'm such a clumsy person.
"I know my dad's going to be laughing throughout all the routines because he's just going to think I'm going to make a mistake or fall because I'm just not the most elegant person.
"They'll be cheering me on. They're all very excited to sit down and watch it. It's such an amazing show to be a part of."
Katie, who played Sinead Tinker in Corrie, has also been able to ask some of her former co-stars who have also competed in Strictly for advice.
This includes Catherine Tyldesley who starred in the seventeenth series of Strictly in 2019 with her professional partner, Johannes Radebe.
"My friend Catherine Tyldesley did it a couple of years ago now and she gave me sound advice of just enjoy every minute because you're going to have the best time.
"[She said] 'Just relax, you're going to know it by Friday.'"
And it wasn't just Cath.
"I messaged Lisa Riley when I knew," Katie said of the Emmerdale star. "I was very cautious with what I was texting her but she kind of knew straight away.
"She said, 'You're doing Strictly aren't you Katie.' But she said the same things. She said just relax, enjoy it and be yourself.
"I'm daft as a brush and she said to be as daft as a brush because it's a fun, relaxed show and that's my personally.
"So hopefully, my dance moves will be ok."
And as a superfan, Katie has some past winners in mind for inspiration.
"There's so many," she said. "I think Caroline Flack was just incredible.
"If you watch her journey throughout it she was just insanely amazing."
Katie added: "All my friends have been brilliant in it so far. Lisa Riley was just incredible."
Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday, September 18, at 7.45pm on BBC One.
