Kate Middleton cancels public appearance because of ‘undisclosed matter relating to her children’

KATE CANCELS

KATE Middleton has been forced to pull out of an event last minute due to an "undisclosed matter relating to her children".

The Duchess of Cambridge had been due to join Prince William at the Tusk Conservation Awards in Leicester Square tonight.

She was also going to make an appearance at a reception being held at the nearby National Portrait Gallery.

But the palace announced she has pulled out of the evening's events due to an undisclosed matter with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The royal couple did finalists of the Tusk Conservation awards this afternoon instead - suggesting there is no serious problem regarding the children's health.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman said: "The duchess is no longer able to attend the Tusk awards due to the children.

"She will still however meet finalists at a tea at Kensington Palace this afternoon. The duke as patron will attend both."

TOUGH WEEK FOR ROYALS

Prince William is a Royal Patron of Tusk and has actively supported the charity's work.

Last year, he visited Tusk projects in Namibia and Tanzania in 2018 which aim protect wildlife and empower communities in Africa.

The annual awards celebrate those who have worked to protect Africa’s natural heritage.

Kate's last official engagement was at the Royal Variety Performance earlier this week when she wowed in a glamorous plunging black dress.

The royal family have been embroiled in a week of scandal after Prince Andrew's car-crash BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has now been sacked from his royal duties and has lost his £249,000 sovereign grant.

The Queen, who yesterday celebrated her 72nd wedding anniversary, is understood to have come to the decision after consulting Prince Charles.

Andrew has been accused of sensational claims he bedded a 17-year-old and has faced mounting criticism for his friendship with the disgraced tycoon.
