Kate joins forces with Sophie and Anne to make sure The Queen is 'not alone' this week

Prince Philip funeral: Kate Middleton lauded as 'hero' by expert

A source claimed the Queen "will not be alone" in the coming weeks, as she continues to mourn the great loss of Prince Philip. Senior royals have agreed on a plan which will see the Queen's closest relatives dropping by Windsor Castle for a visit, contacting her via video call and share her workload, the insider said.

The source told the Mirror: "The Queen will not be alone.

"She will have others who care about her deeply and want to be there to support her in her most pressing hour.

"In typical fashion, the Queen has insisted she is coping and despite the suggestion she had prepared herself for this day to come, everyone is well aware there is nothing like the experience when it comes."

Prominent female royals are believed to have come up with the plan - including Kate, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Kate, who with Prince William and their three children have returned to London from Anmer Hall ahead of the reopening of schools after the Easter break, is believed to have already planned a video call with the monarch to mark her 95th birthday later this week.

The Queen's beloved great-grandchildren George, Charlotte and Louis would also take part in it.

Prince Charles, who led the funeral procession on Saturday, is expected to drive from Gloucestershire and visit his mother later this week.

Similarly, Princess Anne will travel from Gatcombe Park to keep an eye on her 94-year-old mother.

Sophie, who royal commentators and insiders believe to be one of the Queen's favourites, is said to have planned several visits in the coming days with her children Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn.

The teenagers, respectively 17 and 13, were the youngest members of the Royal Family to attend the funeral of Prince Philip on Saturday.

They are both close to the monarch and her late husband, also thanks to the hobbies they picked up during the years.

James is believed to be incredibly skilled at fly-fishing - a passion the Queen Mother used to have.

And he is also a keen barbecue cook - taking this talent after his grandfather Prince Philip.

The daughter of Sophie and Prince Edward is known to love carriage riding - a hobby beloved by the Duke of Edinburgh who practised it for almost five decades.

Another member of the Royal Family who could be part of the Queen's support system over the next few days could be Prince Harry, who returned to the UK for the first time in 12 months to attend the funeral of his grandfather.

The Duke may choose to remain in his home country for a few days to celebrate the Queen's birthday on April 21.

A source told the Sun: "If all goes well, he could stay for the Queen's birthday."

Royal commentator Richard Kay claimed the Duke of Sussex has an open return plane ticket, which would allow Harry to get on a US-bound aircraft whenever he wishes to do so.

However, the expert added, Harry is also mindful his wife Meghan is heavily pregnant.

Mr Kay wrote in a MailOnline column: "Although Harry is understood to have an open return air ticket – meaning he could travel at any time – he is anxious to return to America to be with Meghan, who is thought to be seven months pregnant with their second child."

Another royal commentator, Victoria Arbiter, said there are no clues on when the Duke of Sussex may return to the US.

She said: "It would be nice to think he could stick around in the UK a little longer to mend some of those bridges.

"There has been no official word yet.

"Having been away from his heavily pregnant wife for a week, he is understood to be keen to get back."
