Kate and Rio Ferdinand have revealed they joined thousands of others on the Black Lives Matter march in London today.

The former TOWIE star, 29, took to Instagram to share pictures of the two of them and Rio's three kids, Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and nine-year-old Tia, at the demo.

In the caption she explained that they decided to go along so the children "understand what is happening in the world and [will] be part of the change".

The first picture showed the family of five amongst the crowds while they wore their face masks and carried a sign that read "BLM".

In the second snap Rio wrapped an arm around his wife as they stood with protesters carrying signs around them.

The third showed Lorenz holding up his sign with his back to the camera.

Next was Kate throwing her fist in the air as she joined others doing the gesture.

In another snap Tia was seen on her dad's shoulders as her sign covered her face.

Kate captioned the post: "Such a moving & overwhelming experience for us today  honestly, we were cautious about going & taking the children, but we are so glad we made the decision to go, it's something we will all remember for the rest of our lives.

"It felt so good to be part of the movement.

"Our kids are the future, for us it's so important for them to understand what is happening in the world and be part of the change, we need to continue to educate ourselves and the younger generation.

"Taking one knee with thousands of protesters & having a minutes silence is a moment that will stay with me for a very long time. We stand united."

She finished the post with five raised fist emojis in different skin tones and the hashtag #blacklivesmatter.
