Kamaru Usman vows to destroy UFC 251 rival Jorge Masvidal and predicts brutal KO by ‘blessing him with these fists’

KAMARU USMAN has vowed to destroy Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251 by "blessing him with these fists".

The pair meet on UFC Fight Island this weekend and the 'Nigerian Nightmare' did not hold back when asked how he sees the fight going.

Masvidal has stepped up to fight at just six days notice after Usman's original UFC 251 opponent Gilbert Burns was forced to pull out after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Speaking to ESPN, Usman said: "All I'm going to say is I'm going to bless him with these hands in any way possible.

"Whether he's on his back, I'll bless him with these fists.

"Whether he's standing up, I'll bless him with these fists. It's up to him how he's able to handle that.

"Whether he lets me bless him in the first round where there's no more suffering.

"Or he can take it like [Colby] Covington and I'll bless him for 24 minutes until I get him out of there."

Despite having 20lbs to shed before Friday's weigh-in, Masvidal was pictured eating pizza on Wednesday as his flight stopped over in Rome on his way to the Abu Dhabi island.

Also speaking to ESPN ahead of the welterweight bout, Masvidal said: "Yeah I got 20lbs to go. I'm taking the fight on six days notice.

"When they made the fight official I was 13st 9lbs. So Friday, I gotta lose that weight.

"I've been doing this a long time. It won't be the first time I have to cut a crazy amount of weight at short notice.

"Like I've always said God has my back so I've got no worries."

Masvidal, 35, has a 35-13-0 record and beat Nate Diaz in November to claim the Baddest Mother F***er belt.

The American has won his last three fights by knockout.

But the scintillating Usman, 33, has a 16-1-0 record and has not lost since 2013 vs Jose Caceres.
