K-Pop superstar Kris Wu has been arrested on suspicion of rape, Beijing police have confirmed.

They say their investigation centres around claims the 30-year-old "deceived young women multiple times into having sexual relations".

Student Du Meizhu - 17 at the time she says they met - made the accusation following a meeting in December 2020.

The former Korean boyband EXO member denies plying Ms Du with alcohol.

He also rejected other allegations that he enticed girls to have sex in return for benefits, raped girls while they were unconscious, and had sex with minors.

Under Chinese law, under-18s are considered minors - but the age of sexual consent is 14.
