"OBSESSED" Jose Mourinho sends his former players results from all over Europe in a decade-old WhatsApp group.
And Cameroon legend Eto'o, who retired this year, says the spirit ex-Porto chief Mourinho created at the Italian giants lives on - via social media.
The Mirror report Eto'o as saying: "This man [Mourinho] created a family at Inter Milan.
"We have a WhatsApp group which we all talk on every day, celebrating birthdays and reliving memories.
"Jose is always updating us on the scores around Europe. He is obsessed!"
Mourinho himself, who has been out of management since United axed him last December, also admits he is as fervent as ever.
In Madrid with Eto'o for the launch of a three-year global partnership between LiveScore and LaLiga, Mourinho said: "It is important football continues to innovate and embrace technologies that can develop the game for clubs and leagues.
"But, and I say this after my first summer as a fan, the emotion remains in football."
In fact, earlier today the Portuguese manager suggested it was sad emotions that caused Alexis Sanchez to flop at Old Trafford.
United frontman Sanchez, 30, has now joined £75million Romelu Lukaku at Inter, albeit only on loan.
And Mourinho told the Telegraph: "I felt him [to be] not a happy man.. when you are not happy it is not so easy to perform at every level.
"And maybe I am wrong. Maybe it was me who was not capable to get into him and to get the best out of him.
"As a manager sometimes you have the capacity to get the best out of the players and other times you are not successful in that approach.
"But the reality is that I always felt [of Sanchez], ‘a sad man’. So probably in Italy he will recover this. I hope he can. I always wish well to every player.”
