Johnny Depp has denied headbutting his ex-wife Amber Heard and claimed she suffered a bloody mouth due to "dry lips".
The actor, 57, is back at London's High Court for a fifth day giving testimony as part of his libel case against News Group Newspapers.
After returning to the witness stand today, Depp insisted he did not headbutt Heard in a row on December 15 2015 - the day before Heard was due to appear on the Late Late Show With James Corden
He told the court Heard "violently attacked" him and was punching and hitting him
Depp said when he grabbed Heard's arms to stop her hitting him their foreheads clashed.
It was "entirely accidental" and "not a headbutt".
Shown a photo allegedly showing Heard with black eyes, Depp said he felt it unlikely the clash of foreheads caused such an injury.
He saw no injury on her afterwards, telling the court: "I believe it would have been noticeable immediately."
Depp's lawyer David Sherborne said Heard told a nurse over the phone her husband had headbutted her, was bruised and suffered a headache
Then she appeared on the James Corden show.
The next day a nurse visited Heard at home but could not see the bruises she described.
She noticed her lip was bleeding which Heard said was a result of the assault two days earlier
Depp told the court: "It was normal she had particularly dry lips. She was constantly using lip balm. She would pick at the dry skin. It would bleed."
Earlier today, Depp told the court he had battled deadly bug MRSA after undergoing surgery to reattach his severed finger.
The actor claimed he lost the tip of the digit when Heard threw a vodka bottle at him during a row in Australia in March 2015.
He flew back to LA for surgery, and claims he then caught MRSA.
Depp told the court: "I went back to LA to have surgery - they put a pin in my finger and I ended up catching MRSA, which is quite a painful disease."
During last week's explosive testimony, the court heard how Depp had then used his mangled finger to scrawl a message in blood on a mirror after a heated row with Amber Heard in Australia in 2015.
While the heard rented house they had been staying in during the trip was left with $150,000 damage.
Another key point during last week's testimony was Depp's claim that he found a poo in his bed after a row with Heard over her birthday party in 2016.
In his witness statement, Depp claimed he decided to end their marriage in 2016 when a poo was left in their marital bed, which he believes was left by Amber or one of her friends.
Depp has denied he was ever violent towards his ex-wife and has accused her of abusing him during their marriage.
Lawyers for NGN are defending their case based on Heard's 14 allegations of abuse, which include claims of bust-ups between 2013 and 2016.
The actor has argued his ex-wife was abusive towards him during the marriage, which collapsed in 2016.
The case continues.
