John Deere adds more machines to Machine Sync guidance control system

Via satellite guidance, the system allows the harvester to automatically control the speed and travel direction of tractor-trailer combinations relative to the harvester. The manufacturer says the system makes harvesting safer and reduces stress for operators as well as reducing waste during filling.

In addition, Machine Sync will also work with trailed harvesters such as those lifting potatoes, carrots and other vegetables, with the harvesting tractor taking control of the tractor and trailer.

For operation, Machine Sync requires JDLink telematics, a StarFire satellite receiver and a Gen4 Premium display with automation activation. If these are not selected when initially ordering the machine, retrofitting is also possible, adds Deere.
