‘Jilted’ lover ‘battered wealthy ex-partner and poured red wine over his walls and £12k antique rug’

GRAPES OF WRATH

A JILTED lover battered her wealthy ex and then poured red wine over his walls and £12,000 antique rug, a court heard.

Graphic designer Sahar Divsalar also allegedly smashed up furniture after storming Mojtaba Khamenehi’s apartment.

Divsalar, 37, was said to have punched Mr Khamenehi in the face three times before vandalising his home, causing about £25,000 worth of damage.

It was alleged at Westminster magistrates’ court that Iranian-born Divsalar:

Poured red wine over a £12,000 antique rug and splashed it over walls;

Smashed vintage decor, crystal glasses, a decanter, five vases and 30 plates;

Damageda television, sofa and chairs.

Mr Khamenehi, understood to be a 40-year-old businessman, called police following the alleged rampage last November.

Prosecutor Matt Barrowcliffe said: “At night-time the defendant attended the complainant’s flat banging and kicking the door until it was opened. She ran into the flat and hit the complainant in the face three times before pouring red wine over the walls and the rug and some furniture.”

He said the defendant also smashed “a television screen, a crystal vase bowl and whisky decanter and around 30 plates”.

Divsalar, of St John’s Wood, North London, denies assault and criminal damage and will face trial on July 31.
