Jesse Lingard next club odds: Tottenham involved as clubs ‘queue up’ for Man Utd star, Newcastle & Leeds in the mix

TOTTENHAM have entered the race to sign Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard.

However, Jose Mourinho's side trail the field with several Premier League clubs tipped to challenge for the midfielder's signature.

Lingard, 28, hasn't played a minute of Premier League football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

His only two starts during the 2020-21 campaign have come in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup against Luton and Watford.

And despite his recent contract extension and Solskjaer's reluctance to trim his squad - Lingard still looks destined to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

French outfit Nice are the outright market leaders at 5/4 with bookmakers Betfair.

West Ham are next in the betting at 6/1 with Ligue 1 side Marseille and Italian challengers Inter Milan following at 7/1 and 17/2 respectively.

Aston Villa and Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin are locked together at 9s while Crystal Palace are a double-figure 10/1 to take Lingard to Selhurst Park.

Struggling Newcastle want to bolster their attacking options having scored just once in nearly 12 hours of football.

Steve Bruce's side are 12/1 with English rivals Leeds offered at 16/1.

Spurs are the outsiders of the group at a massive 20/1.

However, that price could soon shrink with Jose eager to sign his former pupil having won the League Cup and the Europa League together in 2017.

Transfer reporter Alex Crook told White and Jordan on talkSPORT: "Clubs are literally queuing up for Jesse Lingard, not just in England.

"West Ham, Tottenham, and Sheffield United have all expressed an interest.

"We know about Nice, Porto have also been mentioned to me, but Manchester United’s stance hasn’t really changed.

"Despite the fact that Lingard isn’t part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, he’s reluctant to trim his squad.

"So I think this is one that will go right to the end of the window when Solskjaer can assess his squad, see who’s fit and see if he can let Lingard go out and play football."
