WHEN the Golden Globes nominations are announced tomorrow Jennifer Lopez will undoubtedly be in the running for her first major acting award.
Her scene-stealing turn as stripper Ramona in the film Hustlers has made Hollywood and take notice.
In an exclusive chat, the superstar, formerly known for fluffy romcoms, told all about the surprise hit of the summer, revealing that she fought to include more raunchy scenes — despite at first being terrified of getting her kit off.
She also dismissed reports of an on-set feud with her co-star Constance Wu, who played fellow stripper Destiny.
The film centres on a savvy group of strip club girls who turn the tables on their rich clients.
Jennifer revealed that her nearly-nude stripteases made her feel “total terror” and “total happiness”.
She said: “Initially my big strip routine was not in the movie, but I thought it was important to show.
“You had to see she was the star of the club. I just had to be a big girl about it. The first time in the full costume — calling it that is a stretch — was very nerve-racking.
"It’s the first time I really got the vulnerability, the feeling of being exposed.
“But I pulled my G-string up and did what I had to do as an actress. This is my job, what I signed up for.
“I felt the empowerment and being in control of the room. There was a before and after that was drastic, from total terror to total happiness. It was hard, scary — but awesome.”
Jennifer was annoyed that cinemagoers assumed she used a double for the pole-dancing.
The 50-year-old mum of two said: “When I went upside down (on the pole) I said, ‘Please get my face, I don’t care if I look like a bat hanging upside down, I want people to know there’s no doubles in this movie’.”
US reports have alleged she did not get on with Crazy Rich Asians star Constance, who she filmed intimate scenes with.
But Jennifer said firmly: “I love her. It was a special movie. I felt like there was a matchmaker at play. It was a safe place because we kind of let the love happen to us.
“We have to get pretty close (in the movie) so we had lots of conversations about butt-grabbing, asking ‘Are you OK?’ We had to get in a teasing mentality with each other.”
Reflecting on the role, which looks certain to bag her a Best Supporting Actress nod, J-Lo said: “I thought, ‘F*** it. I’m gonna be uninhibited and unafraid every day on set’.”

Rita's belly bold
DESPITE being in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Roman Kemp still managed to make an appearance at Capital Radio’s Jingle Bell Ball last night.
A pre-recorded message was played to the 16,000-strong crowd at the O2 in London, in which the Capital DJ quipped: “I would love to be there, eating all those lovely mince pies with you, but I guess I’ll have to make do with a bowl of fish eyes or something gross.”
Stars who made it in person included performers Rita Ora, who showed off her tum, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Stormzy.
Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham were in the audience, alongside Adam Lambert and Matthew Macfadyen.
The acts each got a £5,000 gift bag including ear bud headphones, a hairdryer, gin and Fenty beauty products, plus the use of a backstage spa and massage parlour.
Another good reason not to be in the jungle.
Liam let slip his little thing
LIAM Payne regretted recording the song Little Things after he accidentally flashed staff on a photoshoot.
Backstage at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball last night, the former One Direction singer let slip that he, er, let slip his bits during a Hugo Boss campaign.
He said: “A certain part of me had popped out from behind the curtain I was posing in.”
Liam said he would stay after opening the O2 gig to see Harry Styles’ closing set.
He said: “Me and Harry haven’t spoken in ages so it’s will be a surprise hearing those records and where he’s at. I’ve not seen him live. It’s exciting!”
You've got some neck, Justin
BELIEVE it or not, Justin Bieber’s questionable teddy bears pyjama get-up wasn’t the first thing that caught my eye when I saw this picture.
I’ve looked past the garish pink co-ord because he has given two new neck tattoos their debuts.
The Canadian singer had 40-plus inkings already but has decided to add a scrawling of Forever and a picture of a bird to his skin art.
Justin was spotted heading out in LA with wife Hailey Bieber.
Hopefully his next tat will be a replica of the cuddly teddy on his PJs.
Simon's Ron the hunt
SIMON Cowell has pinched pal Sinitta’s protege Ronnie for X Factor: The Bands.
Talking about her new streaming service Howdoo, which will feature behind- the-scenes footage of the ITV show, Sinitta said: “I‘m very proud but then again I’ve set her up with her own band, the USPs, so it does mess it up a bit if Simon does get her.
"The BBC show The Search, fronted by Little Mix, is also interested. It’s a kind of three-way tug of war.”
She also revealed Simon has binned a 60th birthday party after putting it off at the last minute in October.
She said: “He has let it go. We ended up having a really lovely intimate Thanksgiving Day dinner at his house. “
Posh Daisy retouches her roots
YOU could have heard the sound of her publicist shrieking even in a galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley committed an epic interview blunder when she denied that she was privileged.
The privately educated performer even went one step further, insisting that her upbringing was similar to that of her co-star John Boyega, who grew up on a council estate in South London.
In a stammering, toe-curling interview, Daisy said: “John grew up on a council estate in Peckham and I think me and him are similar enough that . . . no.
“Also, I went to a boarding school for performing arts, which was different.”

Fans were quick to criticise her inability to admit the perks she had while growing up.
Later John tweeted about the interview, seemingly backing his co-star.
He said: “Well, it’s more people not wanting the detail of their struggle erased because the cameras only turn on when you arrive, not when you’re on your way.”
