Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have announced their split after four years together.
The couple, who were engaged to be married, confirmed the sad news in a no-nonsense statement explaining their relationship is done for good.
The statement, released to the US Today show, said: “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.
"We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
The pair first sparked speculation their engagement was on the rocks in March but both of their teams insisted they "never officially broke up" at that point.
J-Lo and Alex both put out a joint statement at the time insisting: "All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things."
"They hit a rough patch that made them think about what they should do," one insider added at the time..
Jennifer, 51, had been working in the Dominican Republic in recent months on her upcoming film Shotgun Wedding, while A-Rod, 45, stayed in Miami.
It's believed Covid-19 travel restrictions may have hastened the couple's demise.
Jennifer sparked feverish claims just this week when she shared selfies taking on set without herlavish engagement ring.
Sitting on some stone steps, the singer and movie star pouted into her phone for a series of glam shots - but her enormous ring was missing from her left hand.
