Sushi and fresh Japanese food restaurant YO! is welcoming the festive season with the launch of its Japanese Fried Chicken (JFC) Festive Feast.
Christmas in Japan has become synonymous with a bucket of fried chicken and is enjoyed by millions of Japanese families from November through to Christmas Day.
Orders are made weeks in advance and massive queues form from early morning on Christmas Day itself. Inspired by this Japanese tradition, YO! is bringing the trend to the UK, with its brand-new fried chicken Christmas box, available from 29 November to 31 December.
The Festive Feast features chicken karaage – crispy Japanese fried chicken – a sweet and spicy chilli JFC dipping sauce, YO! fries - sprinkled with sesame and aonori - miso-buttered sweetcorn and creamy slaw.
YO! has also created a vegan version, which includes vegan nuggets, YO! fries, a sweet and spicy chilli JFC dipping sauce, miso-coated sweetcorn & vegan mayo slaw, an addition to the brand’s offering of plant-based options.
Mike Lewis, Executive Chef at YO!, said: “We’re excited to bring a Japanese festive favourite to our menus this Christmas and we’re continuously looking for new ways to grow and expand our menu beyond sushi. We believe this unique addition, will be a huge hit with our guests.”
The limited-edition Festive Feast box is available in selected YO! sites* from the 29 November to the 31 December and both variations will be sold for £8.50.
