Alison Hammond was forced to tell and ecstatic viewer that she had not won the £200,000 giveaway prize.
The 44-year-old ITV presenter appeared on the doorstep of excited This Morning fan Angela.
A mum of two, Angela could barely contain herself as she let out an enormous scream when she was greeted by Alison and the TV crew.
Alison, dressed as an elf, hugged an overwhelmed Angela and said: "Merry Christmas, babes."
But in her ecstatic state, the mum-of-two was left slightly confused by how much she could win if she answered the question correctly.
Alison said: "Listen Ange, we're gonna give you a chance to win some festive treats.
Whilst Angela assumed she had won £200,000 - which is actually for This Morning's general competition - she was actually playing for A LOT less, the M.E.N reports.
Alison said: "You can't win the £200,000 unless you've entered."
Because in fact, she was playing for £2,000 and some vouchers.
But the best bit of the whole thing was her incredible reaction.
Back in the ITV studio, hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes couldn't get over her reaction either.
"I thought Angela was going to have a wee turn there she was so excited."
And viewers love it too.
One said: "Aww this is the most beautiful moment #thismorning that is totally how I’d react if I Alison Hammond knocked on my door."
Another said: "Angela thinking she’s won £200k #thismorning"
A third said: "Hahahahahaha bless poor Angela."
Other added: "LOLLLLLLL what an amazing reaction I love this lady, I really hope she wins," and "If @AlisonHammond knocked in my door without a prize I'd still react like that lol love that woman."
