ITV have responded following Sheridan Smith 's reported backstage misogyny row while on The Jonathan Ross Show.
The actress is said to have been furious after making chauvinism accusations while she was behind the scenes of the show.
The 40-year-old star appeared alongside singer Gary Barlow as they promoted their new Christmas song collaboration - and she was smiling throughout.
But Sheridan reportedly threatened to sack staff during a heated argument following the conclusion of the chat show.
She was a guest alongside actors Stephen Merchant and Ruz Ahmed with music great Sting and Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson also on the sofa.
The Sun report that the Funny Girl actress was livid backstage after not being treated with "kindness" but is yet to address the issue.
"Sheridan was absolutely furious when filming on Jonathan Ross had ended," the source said.
"She claimed the atmosphere was chauvinistic and there was an air of misogyny. She also claimed that she felt she had not been treated with kindness.
ITV have responded to the reports in a statement.
The network said: "When booking the show, we are always keen to ensure we are diverse and inclusive to all. We treat our guests with courtesy and respect at all times."
A representative for Jonathan Ross told the Sun: "Sheridan seemed to have a great time on the show but appeared to become upset afterwards.
"Jonathan asked her if she was OK and she said, 'Don't worry, it's not you'. So Jonathan assumed it was a personal matter between Sheridan and the group of people she'd come with.
"We will investigate immediately. I hope Sheridan knows we would never take a claim of this kind lightly."
Sheridan said Gary was her favourite Take That member on the show - and the mood seemed buoyant as the guests shared jokes with each other and host Jonathan.
The pair and currently promoting their new Christmas song, How Christmas Is Supposed To Be.
Gary explained that he decided to write a Christmas album due to feeling 'robbed' of last Christmas due to it being so different as a result of coronavirus restrictions.
They revealed how they met backstage at The Royal Variety show while Sheridan was dressed as Cilla Black.
They bumped into each other when Gary said he was a big fan of her work and asked if she wanted his number.
Sheridan recently confirmed her romance with her ex-boyfriend Alex Lawler.
