I'm a Celebrity... has returned to our screens, with stars such as Emmerdale's Adam Miller and The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge now well at home in the Welsh castle.

Last year, Giovanna Fletcher became the first-ever ITV Queen of the Castle.

Previous years have seen many big stars, including football hero Harry Redknapp, TV legend Noel Edmonds, and even Caitlyn Jenner.

Some celebrities have found the jungle too much, and not lasted very long in camp.

And others didn't quite make it to air, despite signing up for the whole show, Birmingham Live reports.

Here's all the stars who volunteered for I'm a Celeb, but were unable to see it through.

Actress and singer Steph is best known for appearing as Sinead O'Connor in soap Hollyoaks, but some viewers will also remember her for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother where she had a doomed romance with fellow housemate Jeremy McConnell.

Steph came runner-up to winner Scotty T.

The Liverpool native signed up for I'm A Celeb in 2015 but was forced to pull out and cancel her appearance due a potentially fatal nut allergy.

Malcolm was the promoter and manager of punk rock band the Sex Pistols as well as being a successful solo artist himself.

He also had a song featured on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Volume 2.

In 2007, Malcolm was announced as a contestant on the seventh series of I'm A Celebrity but controversially pulled out on the day he flew to Australia. He then sensationally branded the show as fake and that he didn't know any of the other celebrities.

He was replaced by Katie Hopkins.

Gemma Collins

Probably the most well-known of those who had short stays in camp, Gemma's time in the jungle was brief.

The GC is no stranger to reality TV having started her career on TOWIE before enjoying appearances on Dancing on Ice, and Splash with Tom Daley.

Appearing as a contestant on I'm A Celeb in 2014, she pulled out of the show in less than 72 hours after deciding the environment "wasn't for her".

At the time she said: "People that murder get treated better than this and that’s the truth. Even a murderer gets fed three times a day."

Richard Madeley

Richard Madeley lasted just four days in camp during this year's series.

The GMB presenter became unwell in the early hours of Thursday morning and was immediately seen by I'm A Celebrity's on-site medical team.

Richard was taken to hospital as a precaution, but in doing so forfeited his place on the show - due to coronavirus "bubble" rules meaning he couldn't reenter the camp.

The 65-year-old will reportedly take home £200,000 for his four-day appearance.

Elaine Lordan

Best known for her roles as Lynne Slater in EastEnders, and Sugar Walls in Gimme Gimme Gimme, actress Elaine Lordan was all geared up for I'm A Celeb in 2005.

But after passing out twice on day one, she was removed from the camp for medical reasons - despite the show's doctors finding her to be in good health.

An ITV spokesman at the time said: "We have given a great deal of thought and consideration to Elaine's situation and have decided that she won’t be returning to the jungle."

Spencer Matthews

Spencer found fame on Made in Chelsea alongside fellow stars Jamie Laing and Sam Thompson but is now a successful media personality and businessman.

He was was initially a popular contestant on I'm A Celeb in 2015, but was asked to leave the show due to his consumption of steroid pills.

Spencer later revealed he had kept his steroid addiction a secret from producers until reaching a breaking point.

He said: "Shortly after I arrived in Australia I told the production team that I was taking a steroid-based medication that had begun some weeks ago.

"I had intended to come off the pills gradually, but there was no time to do this before I reached the jungle."

Camilla Dallerup

Former Strictly professional Camilla won the 2008 series with celebrity partner Holby City actor Tom Chambers.

Following the win, in 2008, she revealed she would not be back for the 2009 series.

She appeared on I'm A Celeb in 2009 but withdrew on day four after falling ill and was left exhausted and severely weakened due to the lack of food on the show.

She repeatedly broke down in tears in the camp as she struggled to cope with the jungle conditions.
