They have since released four albums and are credited with helping popularize the emo style of music.

Is My Chemical Romance still together?

In March 2013 My Chemical Romance shocked fans after announcing their break-up.

"Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible," the band wrote on their website at the time.

"We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."

In 2019, the band then announced a long-anticipated reunion along with a tour that was later postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As of January 2022, the band is still together and planning on performing at multiple shows.

On May 13, 2022, MCR dropped a surprise six-minute track The Foundations Of Decay.

The song comes after an 8-year musical drought.

MCR will be going on a 2022 world tour starting May 16.
