Inside the £550K Accrington church that's been converted into a family home

A quirky Accrington home has been put on the property market- but it’s not your average family home.

The Rectory stood as a church and has since undergone extensive renovations and is now a four bedroom family home.

The Blackburn Road property is being sold by Fine and Country and has a current asking price of £550,000.

It was constructed in the late 19th century under the supervision of a renowned architect called Basil Champneys.

In 2005, the property was converted into a home- but the property has still retained many of its original features and architecture.

From the outside, it still looks like a church and stained glass windows still occupy both ends of the building- but the interiors are far more homely and quite luxe.

The lounge has original stained glass windows and original stone columns.

On the ground floor is a grand entrance porch with traditional studded wood entrance door leading to reception hall.

The snug seems like a relaxing place to be as it has its own burning stove.

On the ground floor, you will find two double bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom.  Bathroom.

Head upstairs and you’ll find two bedrooms at opposite ends of the building which can be accessed via separate staircases.

The master bedroom has a gallery view of the living room and the fourth bedroom has an exposed feature wall.

Outside,  there is a private walled and flagged terrace extending the full width of the building providing ample space for entertaining.

However, there is a slight catch as the graveyard is also included in the sale of the property.

The graveyard is still operational and sometimes visited by relatives; burials also take place on occasion.

Access to the graveyard is via a pedestrian gate separate to that of the Rectory.
