In pictures: Durham Pride returns with a bang as scores descend on city

This year's event was ticketed to help limit numbers and there were Covid safety measures in place - but hundreds of people came along to enjoy the festivities

Durham looked like a city of rainbows as a popular festival made a comeback after lockdown.

Durham Pride returned on Saturday and scores of people came along to join the celebrations.

The event was different this year due to the pandemic - there was no parade and numbers were limited.

But it didn't stop visitors from enjoying themselves, despite the rainy weather.

The festival offered live music from a number of acts, as well as stalls and a funfair.

These photographs show what the atmosphere was like.
