Some of the worst driving fails and near misses on Merseyside's roads have been captured on dash cam.

The compilation of clips which was posted to Youtube channel “Idiot Drivers On Our Roads” shows everything from an accidental bump to horrifying near misses.

The bizarre and outlandish attempts at driving show drivers taking risks that could have resulted in fatalities.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injury to anyone involved in the footage, however it could have been a very different story.

In one clip, a dark Hyundai i30 weaves in and out of traffic at speed along Walton Hall Avenue.

The driver then moves in to the inside lane, alongside a blue lorry, before dangerously breaking and dropping behind it to avoid a bus.

Unable to decide on which lane to stay in, the motorist seems to gesture a two fingered salute at the vehicles approaching from behind.

The car then moves in to the outside lane and speeds past the lorry it has been tailgating.

Another clip shows a dozy driver reversing out of a front garden path, in front of a line of traffic, only to bump into a white van parked on the opposite side of the road.

Meanwhile a a third clip captures two impatient motorists driving along the pavement agonisingly close to a child.

The child is walking in a school uniform with a backpack on, when the two drivers use the pavement to avoid traffic.
