Rangers star Ianis Hagi is being linked with a sensational switch to Real Madrid - despite the Ibrox club having a buyout clause.
The Romanian international joined on loan from Genk in January, with Rangers retaining an option to buy in the summer.
Despite that insurance policy the 21-year-old has been linked with a move elsewhere in the summer.
Serie A title contenders Lazio are believed to be interested, and Hagi's agent claimed this week that Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur had asked after his client.
Now Spanish outlet Don Balon is sensationally reporting that Real Madrid are also interested.
Ianis' father Gheorghe Hagi played for Los Merengues and it's claimed that president Florentino Perez has already made his interest clear.
The website expects Rangers to buy Hagi outright for around £4.5million but says Madrid would then look to buy him for around £8.8million.
Perez is said to be keen to sign young players for relatively low fees, in an echo of the deal that took Marco Asensio to the Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane is said to have given his blessing to the deal but Hagi may well be sent to B-team Castilla for at least a season if any deal comes to fruition.
