WITH temperatures going down and energy prices going up, it can be difficult to keep homes warm on a budget.
But there are several ways you can help keep your house warm and cosy without breaking the bank.
Property expert Kyle Mattison, who goes under the name That Property Guy UK on TikTok, has shared a video of 10 tips and tricks to help you do just that beginning with bleeding radiators to make sure they run efficiently.
Kyle also suggests using reflector foil behind the radiator to "reflect heat back into the room".
Make sure all your thermostatic valves on the radiators are up to the max, and then use an automated thermostat to make sure that "you're not wasting heat throughout the day".
He advises keeping blinds and curtains closed to keep the heat in, as well as moving furniture away from radiators to stop sofas and chairs from absorbing heat.
For the more adventurous DIY-er, Kyle suggests installing some insulation in walls, around pipes and in the loft.
It's also worth using draught excluders around windows and doors, while a rug is a good way to add some warmth if you have tiled or hardwood floors.
Kyle concludes his video by suggesting leaving the oven door open once you've finished cooking - although turning the oven itself off - before adding a bonus tip of doubling up socks on particularly chilly days.
Fans quickly swarmed the comments section of the post to praise Kyle for his tips, with one writing: "Thank you, needed this in the south of Scotland. We got our first snow and it’s not even December."
Another person wrote: "I do the oven one, my husband laughs at me for it but it works!"
