Snoochie Shy ’s mum has said she would love to see her daughter crowned Queen of the Castle but added: "She is my winner...whatever happens."

Kirsty Davide said that the DJ star, 29, was also just as loud in real life and is facing her phobias to compete on the ITV reality show.

Viewers have heard Snoochie scream – very loudly – while taking part in a series of trials. And mum Kirsty says didn’t expect "anything less."

She told the Mirror: "Snoochie has always been a screamer and is basically petrified of anything that buzzes or crawls.

"However her biggest fear has always been heights, so to see her complete the first plank challenge was just incredible.

Snoochie Shy's mum says her 'brave' daughter is doing her proud on the ITV show

My heart was in my mouth the whole way through, but typical Snoochie Style, she overcame it in spectacular form."

Kirsty said she spent quarantine with her daughter in Wales - where they worked together on trying to combat her fear of heights ahead of the ITV show.

"I was blessed to be able to travel to Wales with her for the isolation period.

"I didn’t give her advice as such because she knew what she was going into, but I did get her walking on the wall outside our little cottage trying to get over her fear of heights, much to the astonishment of our security guard, and yes... lots of screaming was involved.

I just told her to go in there and be herself and show the nation what a fearless beautiful woman she is both inside and out."

Kirsty said she was amazed by her daughter’s "true grit and determination" as bugs crawled all over her and "not flinching."

She says: "I am completely in awe of her…..knowing how much she absolutely hates bugs and then seeing thousands of them in a tomb with her was unbelievable, especially when they were all over her face.

I never thought I would ever see her in that position. To say I am bursting with pride would be an understatement."

Kirsty said she wasn’t concerned about the public continuing to vote for her to do trials, laughing: "Bring it on."

She added: "I know that she will always give 100% and try her best at whatever is put in front of her."

Asked how much it would mean for Snoochie to be crowned Queen of the Castle, Kirsty said: "Well, I wouldn’t presume to think that far ahead, but what I will say is that she is a fantastic role model for young people and has always stayed true to herself, which I think is coming across.

If she were to win I think it would be the most amazing thing that has ever happened and the fact that she has crafted her career and worked tirelessly since the age of 17 would mean more than anything in the world to her."

Could she win?

"Of course she can, but ultimately that’s for the public to decide. She’s already been so brave that I think she has as good a chance as anyone at being crowned Queen of the Castle. She’s my winner no matter what happens."

Snoochie is hoping to emulate the success of her radio colleague Jordan North

The 29-year-old has also modelled for top brands such as Nike, Adidas, Ugg and Warehouse

She isn’t a stranger to reality TV after appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox in 2021 alongside Jeremy Vine.

The star is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jordan North – who was also scared of pretty much everything – after he finished as runner-up on I’m A Celebrity 2020.

Kirsty says: "She has always championed young upcoming artists that want to make a name for themselves within the industry, and will support her fellow campmates in exactly the same way.

We have already seen in the trials that she has completed that she goes out of her way to encourage the celebs that she is going up against, and for me, that shows what a real team player she truly is."
