Simon Gregson managed to sneak some contraband into the celebrity camp.

The soap star admitted he managed to smuggle some salt and pepper into the Welsh castle during tonight's episode of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

New Camp Leader David Ginola was not impressed with the Coronation Street actor's sneaky ways.

During Thursday night's offering of the ITV show, Simon's culinary additions came to light during a camp supper.

As dinner was delivered to the hungry celebrities, Danny Miller read the scroll out to his campmates.

"Celebrities, as a result of Frankie and Naughty Boy winning 10 stars in the Trial, you have venison sausages. Enjoy!" he told the stars.

The meal was clearly a hit with the camp, with Snoochie Shy saying in the Telegraph: "Sausages! Everybody in camp loves a sausage, so we’re excited to re-visit back to sausage times."

Simon was also a fan, confessing: "It’s nice to have a sausage. I’m saying lots of things I never thought I would say."

However, it was later revealed that Simon likes his sausages best with a sprinkling of salt and pepper.

Due to feeling unwell, Kadeena Cox opted for an early night, with the Steve McDonald actor taking over with cooking duties.

As the soap star was frying up the meal, former footballer David was suspicious about just what he'd added to the pan.

"It’s just sage," Simon replied to the French star's query.

"It’s not sage… there was nothing left," David claimed, doubting Simon.

The former Everton player's hunch was indeed correct - with Simon later admitting his secret ingredient.

Chatting in the Telegraph, Simon confessed: "I smuggled in a TINY amount of salt and pepper… I put on a very TINY amount onto the dinner.

"To therefore lift the mood of the fellow campmates… it’s all for the greater good. And let’s all learn from it and move forward."

He lightheartedly added: "I think the punishment is knowing that [jokingly fake crying] I’ve let myself down and I’ve let everybody else down."

Back in the camp, former EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt continued the chat about the illegal salt and pepper.

"What’s that… that’s the penny dropping," the Ian Beale actor exclaimed.

Camp Leader David was quit to keep Simon's smuggled good quiet.

"Be careful, the walls have ears," he warned his chatty fellow campers.
