A thrifty woman who "hated spending money" revealed extreme savings, such as not buying toilet paper.

Her Kate Hashimoto, who lives in New York, has found a way to avoid paying for nearly everything in her life.

In her Extreme Cheapskates on TLC, she said:

"If I have to spend money, I try to avoid it. I try to spend as little money as possible."

Monthly living expenses With a budget of just $200, Kate finds ways to repurpose whatever she can to get more out of her money.

"When I wipe my hands in a public restroom, I keep and reuse her paper towels because I'm drying my clean hands," she explains.

Kate never paid for her furniture.

She said: "I organized my place by picking up discarded furniture on the street before the trash picked it up. I've saved thousands of dollars on furniture."

Her bed is an old yoga bed. I stack mats to make mattresses and use magazines as dining tables.

Not wanting to waste her electricity bill, Kate avoids cooking and uses the dishwasher and oven as storage space in her apartment.

And while New York may be her one of the fashion capitals of the world, Kate has no interest in keeping up with her latest trends.

"I haven't bought any clothes in her eight years," she explains. She said, "The last time I bought underwear was in 1998."

The thrifty woman says she hasn't done laundry in three years, so Kate's clothes are washed in the shower.

Perhaps Kate's most unconventional way of saving is the fact that she refuses to spend money on toilet rolls.

"I don't use her toilet paper, I just use water and soap to wash my body," she explains, but recycled paper her towels are also useful.
