A huge power cut wiped out electricity to more than 1,500 homes around Bransholme on Saturday evening.
Northern Powergrid, the company responsible for power supply in Hull and East Yorkshire, says the outage was caused by an "unexpected problem with the cables or equipment" that feed electricity into the area.
The issue was first reported just after 7pm and power was restored by just after 8.30pm.
Several residents contacted Hull Live within moments of the "big power cut" happening.
One person said: "Seems like we have had a power cut on Bransholme.
While a second said: "There's been a big power cut on Branshome."
