Jake Connor: The full-back was engaged in another battle with a potential rival for the England number one shirt and unfortunately, he was second best. Picked up two try assists but couldn’t open up the French as much as he wanted. 6

Adam Swift: Worked hard and put in a shift defensively. Left the field with around 10 minutes remaining through a hamstring issue. 6

Josh Griffin: Found the metres as he always does but couldn’t find joy in attacking areas. 6

Carlos Tuimavave: Sent to the sin-bin for a professional foul in the first half and left the field for a head assessment, but managed to carve out Hull’s second try with a break down the right. 6

Mahe Fonua: Looked dangerous in the first half, powering over for the first try of the game before being held up and denied a second. His impact waned in the second half, though. 6

Josh Reynolds: Looked the part on his home debut and got over for a try. He would have hoped to carve out more in attacking areas, though. 7

Marc Sneyd: Directed play well, but couldn’t find joy with his kicking game. 6

Ligi Sao: A big effort from the prop forward, defensively strong and got stuck in through the middle. 7

Danny Houghton (star man): The hooker was as busy as ever defensively and his tackling stats will be high once more. 7

Chris Satae: Couldn’t hit the heights he did last time out but still a solid showing from Hull’s big number 10. 7

Manu Ma’u: Fierce in defence, he made his presence felt with some huge tackles, particularly in the first half. 7

Andre Savelio: Another busy night defensively but there was a drop off from his outstanding performance last time out. 6

Jordan Lane: An honest performance through the middle, he was kept busy. 6
