Hadersfield manager Carlos Colveran resigned a few weeks before the new season as the club blamed "disappointing timing".

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN has confirmed that Carlos Corberan has resigned as manager.

The Spanish, 39, led Terrier to last season's Championship Playoff Finals.

Town lost to Wembley's Nottingham Forest six weeks ago and missed a promotion to the Premier League.

The club has announced that Koberan has resigned after the team has returned for pre-season training.

And he was replaced by Danny Scofield, who was the coach of his first team on the hotseat.

A statement by Lee Bromby, head of the football business, said: "It's sad to accept Carlos' resignation.

" He apparently occupied most of the great season of 2021/22, but he stayed with us for the next 24 hours. He came and revealed that he didn't think he was a man. To move us forward.

"The timing is disappointing as preparations for the new season have already begun.

"But over the last few years, we have been very hard to build a structure of coaching and support around the first team that provides continuity and stability in the event of change. I've been working on it. I've also created a successor plan just in case. "
