Holly Willoughby has been getting to grips with being a dog mum after welcoming an adorable pup into her family.

The This Morning host revealed earlier this month that she and her husband and three kids have got a new furry friend.

Sharing the news to fans on her lifestyle site Wylde Moon, Holly shared the first look at her Golden Retriever named Bailey.

And the pup made her TV debut last week as a special guest on the This Morning sofa after waiting a few weeks to share the news as Bailey settled into the Willoughby-Baldwin household.

But it's not all plain sailing as Holly realised this weekend.

Sharing with her 7.4 million Instagram followers, Holly posted a no-makeup snap wearing red plaid pyjamas while cuddling up with Bailey.

She wrote alongside the photo of her giving Bailey a side-eye: "Just when you get to the point where your kids lie in on a Sunday… I’m up with this one…"

Holly added: "Now she sleeps… lucky I love her so much… #Bailey."

But the TV star was quickly flooded with messages from fans in a similar situation.

@dogcharmed commented: "We have a 6 month old puppy called Dave who doesn't understand the concept of weekend lie ins at all."

" Good morning Holly and Bailey- I am also awake with my puppy Nelson whilst my children are asleep in bed….. how long does this stage last?" @J enny1822 asked.

@rachp2905 added: "Glad it's not just me on a Sunday morning."

"Puppy life!! I hear [email protected]," @kate_shortland replied.

Bailey was on This Morning last week

Holly took Bailey into the ITV studio last Wednesday where she chilled out between the hosts as they opened the show.

The presenter brought the pup in as resident vet Dr Scott Miller was in the studio to answer viewers' - and Holly's - questions.

"Bailey, can you say hello?" she asked as Bailey continued to relax on the sofa.

"She's 15 weeks old and we've had her for a bit," she said. "I've never had a dog in my life... I have barely slept."

Holly continued to explain that she had been busy preparing a "baby bag" for Bailey before heading to the studio today.

"I think I've thought about this too much," she joked before Phil noted: "She's been incredibly chilled."
