Holly Willoughby shut down a guest on This Morning after clashing over a dress worn by an MP in the House of Commons.
Labour MP Tracy Brabin responded to the "absurd" criticism she received after wearing an off-the-shoulder dress in the Commons.
The shadow culture secretary said the reaction to her outfit - which had slipped off her shoulder when she leaned on the despatch box due to her broken ankle - was a case of "everyday sexism".
On Tuesday, Ms Brabin had replied to a Twitter user after they shared a photograph of her wearing the outfit and asked: "Is this really appropriate attire for parliament?"
She had tweeted: "Sorry I don't have time to reply to all of you commenting on this but I can confirm I'm not... A slag, Hungover, A tart, About to breastfeed, A slapper, Drunk, Just been banged over a wheelie bin.
"Who knew people could get so emotional over a shoulder..."
Speaking on This Morning, Tracy told Holly and Phil: "This is everyday sexism, that a woman steps up and no one is listening to what she's saying - what they're doing is they're commenting on her appearance.
"And why do they do it? Because it's a way to silence us. I'm not going to be silenced."
This then followed a chat between hosts Holly and Phil and guests Morning View reviewers Nick Ferrari and Nicola Thorp, reports the M.E.N.
Holly, 38, said she was stunned by all the fuss, admitting that she herself couldn't see an issue.
Interrupting the debate, the mum-of-three questioned: "Am I the only one that doesn't think that's inappropriate? I can't understand."
While former Corrie star Nicola agreed that the backlash was completely out of order, Nick argued that the choice of outfit wasn't appropriate for the House of Commons and claimed it was 'distracting'.
But Holly couldn't see it.
She exclaimed: "That's a smart dress...
"I wouldn't mind, I honestly don't see... I can see a shoulder. Why is that distracting?"
This Morning continues weekdays at 10am on ITV.
