Hillary Clinton ripped for ‘flat-out wrong’ comments telling Biden not to concede to Trump by fellow Dem

ILLINOIS Senator Dick Durbin admonished Hillary Clinton for suggesting Joe Biden "should not concede" the 2020 election "under any circumstances".

The Democrat spoke to ABC's George Stephanopoulos on This Week, telling the anchor Clinton was "flat out wrong".

“I disagree with Hillary Clinton. I respect her, I like her, but I think she’s flat out wrong.”

In August, Clinton had said Biden "should not concede under any circumstances".

"I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don't give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton said in an interview with her former communications director Jennifer Palmieri for Showtime's “The Circus".

The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee predicted several scenarios, including that Republicans are going to try to “mess up absentee balloting” so they could potentially achieve a narrow advantage in the Electoral College.

“We've got to have a massive legal operation, I know the Biden campaign is working on that,” Clinton said.

“We have to have poll workers, and I urge people, who are able, to be a poll worker. We have to have our own teams of people to counter the force of intimidation that the Republicans and Trump are going to put outside polling places.

She added: "This is a big organizational challenge, but at least we know more about what they're going to do.

"[The only way Trump could win is] by either suppressing or stopping voting, or outright intimidating people into feeling that they have to go with the strong guy to stand up against all these threats that Trump is going to gin up to scare people.”

Speaking on Saturday, Durbin added: "If we’re going to maintain a democracy, peaceful transition through an election is the only way to do it…Whoever the winner is, if it’s clear and legal, the other party should concede.”

On Friday Trump insisted the only way he can lose the 2020 presidential election is if he is "cheated".

Speaking Friday night at a rally in Newport News, Virginia, President Trump told his audience that "mischief" would be the only reasoning for a loss.

He also said it would be "stupid" to commit to a smooth transition.

"I want a smooth, beautiful transition, but... this is a disaster waiting to happen - and the only hope we have, really, other than going through a long litigation in the end after its over - because we're going to win," Trump said.

“We’re not going to lose this except if they cheat. Our country is at stake and it's true.”

As he admitted that a "very friendly transition" is desired, Trump said: "But we don’t want to be cheated, and be stupid, and say, ‘Oh, let’s transit.’

"We’ll go and we’ll do a transition, and we’ll know that there were thousands and thousands of ballots that made the difference through cheating.

"We’re not going to stand for it.”

He also slammed Biden's lack of public appearances and said he would be "very embarrassed" if he lost.

However, earlier this month, Trumps disgraced former lawyer Michael Cohen revealed his "biggest fear is that there will not be a peaceful transition of power in 2020."

He denounced the Democratic hopeful as he addressed a crowd of his supporters at a rally in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday night.

The president went on: "Joe Biden is weak as hell. He surrendered his party to flag burners, rioters and anti-police radicals.

"The Democrat Party's war on cops is putting police lives in danger."

Trumps has criticized mail-in ballots leading up to the election.

This week, mail-in ballots cast for Trump were found trashed in swing-state Pennsylvania.

The findings sparked a Federal prosecutor to launch an investigation on Thursday.

Attorney David Freed said his office and the FBI were contacted on Monday amid concerns about "potential issues with a small number of mail-in ballots at the Luzerne County Board of Elections."
