A cowboy dog called Ronnie has won the Best Trick Award LancsLive's sister website TeamDogs after showcasing his talent for playing dead in a superb video.

The chocolate rescue dog starred in his own Western movie while carrying a miniature yellow cowboy on his back.

TeamDogs judge Rebeckah Vaughan - a former Big Brother contestant and owner of No More Kennels - picked Wild West Ronnie as her overall winner.

She said: “He really looked the part, I felt like I was watching a movie and Ronnie was the star of the show!”

Owner Roger David Muñoz Arteaga shared the video of Ronnie on TeamDogs' Facebook post, with the caption: "A year ago Ronnie was at Dogs 4 Rescue and now here I am, starring in my own Western movie!”

The footage shows Ronnie running towards the camera with Western music in the background.

You can hear a gunshot noise as Ronnie falls to the left with his paws in the air. He lays very still on his side - as if he’s just been shot.

His skilful performance is most definitely deserving of TeamDogs' Best Trick Dog Show Award.

Ronnie has won a TeamDogs rosette and a gift box, as well as being put forward for the overall category of Best in Show, which will be announced on Saturday.

He will be joining Golden Oldie winner Cherry, Wagging Tail winner Ernie and Most Beautiful Eyes winner Lola in the Dog Show leaderboard.

The fun continues tomorrow, where you can put your dog forward for TeamDogs Lookalike category. To enter, you will need to share a photo of your mini-me on their Pictures of Dogs page.

May the best pup win!
