Here’s what’s happening in Holby City tonight – including Max’s explosive return

Surprise guest

HOSPITAL drama Holby City has some big stories coming your way with some festive episodes, starting tonight with a shock return from Max.

It’ll be a lonely Christmas for some of the Holby clan, here are some seasonal spoilers ahead of this evening’s explosive episode.

What is happening on Holby City tonight?

This week there will be an exit, a newcomer, two brilliant Casualty crossovers and a shocking death.

Just minutes into tonight’s episode Lofty and Dom’s vow renewal in the hospital car park gets off to a terrible start and the couple’s big day descends into disaster.

Max makes a surprise return for the ceremony but he is unfortunately run over by Lofty and has to be treated on the Holby wards – where he becomes concerned by his friend’s  behaviour.

It’s clear their lives are heading in different directions and as Max gushes about his happy life with wife Zoe in America, he suggests that Lofty seems unhappy.

Furious Lofty lashes out and the pair come to blows, causing Max to collapse and has to be rushed away for emergency surgery.

Following the fight, Lofty makes a huge decision about his future with Dom and cancels the vow renewal and ultimately finishes things.

On a roll, Lofty then hands in his notice, quitting his job before cycling off into the night. Bye Lofty…
