Heat wave endangers UK wildlife, National Trust warns

Prolonged dry weather is damaging UK wildlife. The National Trust warns today that the Met Office has issued another 'extreme heat' warning for parts of England and Wales. 

The charity today struggled to cope with record high temperatures across the country as lichen and moss in the temperate rainforest of Dartmoor's Lydford Gorge died. announces that it is heat.

According to National Trust Climate Change Advisor Keith Jones, the charity is working to make the site more resilient to future temperature changes. 

He also urged the incoming Prime Minister to prioritize emissions reductions as the next round of climate negotiations approaches in November.
