Grief-stricken mother given just 40 minutes to say goodbye to her stillborn baby

A heartbroken mother describes the 'trauma' after losing her baby boy when she was 4 months pregnant.

Millie Wylie,was undergoing a checkup when she received the heartbreaking news that her baby had no heartbeat. Then 23-year-old Millie decided that she would undergo her medical supervision last September.Manchester Her Evening Her News reports:

Farewell to her beloved son in her hospital. Her parents are now starting an infant loss charity in Lenny's name to help others who have endured similar tragedies.

Millie has two other children, Sonny, 4, and Louie, 2, who have been registered to improve support for pregnant women who must experience a miscarriage. I am looking to start a charitable organization. Millie, 23, explained to LancsLive : I was nearly four months pregnant and it was very traumatic and very sad.

``The scan was done at the women's hospital in Liverpool and they said there was no heartbeat. And then they got a second opinion and took me to the early pregnancy ward where everyone was talking about pregnancy.They need to have a support ward and more support.

"They encouraged me to go home and let Lenny go on his own time, but I chose medical management and went in for it. After giving birth. , I had 40 minutes to say goodbye.”

It was only recently that reality really set in for Millie. The event was several months ago. "I was frozen. I didn't know what to do. And it didn't hit me until about a month ago," she said. “People struggle with grief in many ways. Still I can't blame the hospital at all. That was the approach to the baby loss itself. More needs to be acknowledged. There is no official help for the baby loss. 57}

Now Millie, from Skelmersdale, aims to start an infant loss charity called 'Lenny's Love' in her son's name. This charity provides assistance and supplies, including special 'comfort bags', to parents who are treating their infants. A special "comfort bag" aimed at parents who have lost their baby currently includes toiletries, pajamas, underwear, a clay baby with an angel, a leaflet containing Millie's own story, a personal notepad, and support contacts.

There will also be memorial bags for those who have previously lost a baby, and Millie is working with hospitals to launch her charity website. To become a registered charity you need to raise £5,000.

To achieve this, a special fundraising event was held at her community club, The Buffs, on Ormskirk Road. I plan to It will take place on Sunday, August 28th from noon to 7pm at her Digmoor in Skelmersdale. Featuring games, stalls, raffles, music, dancing and a moving tribute to her tree for the loss of a baby.

Millie added: This is Lenny's legacy to the world. ''

''We're raising money for Lenny's Love, a charity we're raising for registrations,'' she said of the fundraiser, Millie. She gradually moves across the UK and into more hospitals.

"Comfort bags are designed to bring a little solace to bereaved families who have lost a baby through pregnancy, stillbirth, ectopic or medical abortion. We aim to provide mental health counseling and retreats for the loss of the deceased, and would like to help fund funeral flowers and tombstones.

We can provide the vital help that is needed and essential to receive a charity number through support.We cannot do this without you."
