Heartbroken dad pays tribute to son’s ‘gorgeous smile’ after boy pedestrian, 12, hit by car in horror smash

A DEVASTATED dad has paid tribute to his son after the youngster was killed in a horror smash.

Tyler, 12, was walking home from school when he was struck by a car in Crawley, Sussex, at around 2.45pm on Friday.

The youngster was rushed to hospital but sadly died soon after.

Several floral tributes have been left at the scene as cops appeal for information relating to the crash.

A tribute left at the scene from his dad tells of Tyler's "gorgeous smile" and "kind heart".

His heartbroken dad also called him the "brightest star shining in the night time sky" in the emotional tribute.

A fundraising page has been launched to raise money towards Tyler's funeral.

It reads: "my good friends lost their 12 year old son after he was hit by a car coming out of school.

"Tyler was one of the sweetest boys you could meet, he never had a bad bone in his body and always helped people when ever he could."

So far, well-wishers have donated more than £10,000.

Sussex Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or has relevant dashcam footage.

Anyone with information can contact Sussex Police on [email protected], quoting serial 750 of 25/11.

Those who wish to give information anonymously can contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
