Prince Harry is reportedly quarantining in a cottage yards from Prince William's home after returning to the UK for Prince Philip's funeral.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, is self-isolating after arriving at Heathrow Airport on Sunday while his pregnant wife Meghan Markle stays in the US, the Mirror reports.

The duke will spend at least five days at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace, close to the apartment where William, 38, lives with wife Kate Middleton and their three children, it is thought.

It is Harry's first visit to the UK since he and Meghan, 39, quit their roles as senior royals and their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with a girl, and their one-year-old son Archie remain at home in Montecito, California, after doctors advised her not to make the long journey due to her pregnancy.

Harry might have to wait three weeks to about a month to see his wife again, depending on the length of his stay and whether he follows guidance from US infectious disease experts.

Mourners coming from outside England are required to self-isolate from arrival and for the first full 10 days after they arrive.

But Harry will be entitled to leave his place of self-isolation on compassionate grounds to attend the funeral or could also be released from quarantine if he gets a negative private test on day five under the Test to Release scheme.

Charles, William and Harry 'united' Philip's coffin will be transported in a Land Rover during an eight-minute procession before his funeral, and Charles, William, Harry and other senior royals are expected to walk behind it.

The funeral will be Harry's first ceremonial event since the Queen stripped the Sussexes of their official royal titles earlier this year, including Harry’s military links.

It means Harry is expected to wear a suit while Charles, William and Prince Edward are expected to attend in military uniform, the Sunday Times reported.

After Megxit, Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank moved into Frogmore Cottage.

A witness told the Sun that Harry was on a BA flight that landed at Heathrow at 1.15pm on Sunday.

It is thought he was driven to Kensington Palace in west London to self-isolate at Nottingham Cottage.

Though it has not been confirmed officially where Harry will stay during his time in the UK.

The Sussexes posted a tribute to Philip on the website of their foundation Archewell on Friday.

It reads: “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 “Thank you for your service… You will be greatly missed.”

In their interview with Oprah, Harry and Meghan accused the Royal Family of racism towards their then-unborn son Archie, and alleged the institution failed to support the duchess as she had suicidal thoughts.

The Queen issued a statement saying “while some recollections may vary”, the issues would be taken “very seriously”, but dealt with privately as a family.
