A once-popular restaurant is to be transformed a year after the chain closed down more than 100 of its eateries.
Frankie and Benny's, at Dovefields Retail Park, in Town Meadows Way, Uttoxeter, has been closed since the first lockdown in March, last year, and it was confirmed three months later that it would not be reopening, along with 125 other sites across the UK.
Burton's Middleway Park restaurant is also permanently closed and remains empty.

The Restaurant Group, which owns the chain, said it had been on the 'sharp end of the Covid-19 pandemic', and would be cutting down on the money spent on rent as it entered a company voluntary arrangement with landlords.
It was reported that the closures of 125 sites would result in the loss of 3,000 jobs. Prior to lockdown there were 236 Frankie and Benny's around the UK.
Now it has been confirmed that bakery chain Greggs is hoping move into the Uttoxeter site after a planning application was submitted.
Greggs has applied to East Staffordshire Borough Council for permission to install its signs and logos, as well as two air conditioning condenser units.
When approached by Staffordshire Live Greggs confirmed it is looking at a new location in the area and said it would provide further details later in the year.
