It’s one of the most popular Android smartphone brands around the world, and now Google is finally about to unveil its next Pixel smartphone.

The tech giant is hosting an event this evening, in which it will reveal the Pixel 5 alongside a host of other new products.

An official invite for the event reads: “Launch Night In. Your couch is the best seat in the house. We invite you to learn all about our new Chromecast, our latest smart speaker and our new Pixel phones.”

While Google usually hosts elaborate events for its Pixel smartphone launches, its had to tone things down this year amid the coronavirus pandemic, and has instead opted for a digital event.

Google explained: "We took many precautions to ensure Googlers, talent and production teams were safe, comfortable and following the proper local guidelines throughout the making of this digital event.

During the event, Google is expected to unveil two new smartphones - the Pixel 5, but also the Pixel 4a 5G.

Meanwhile, the tech giant is also likely to announce a new Google Chromecast and a Nest smart speaker.
