Gonzoe death latest updates – Tributes paid to Kausion rapper and friend of Tupac ‘killed in Seattle shooting’

A POPULAR rapper linked to hip-hop heavyweights Tupac Shakur and Ice Cube has reportedly died after "being fatally shot at a Seattle Gas Station".

King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Tim Meyer confirmed a shooting victim had died overnight on Saturday - but no official confirmation has as yet been given of the shotgun victim's identity.

The gunman is reportedly still at large, with KCSO describing it as an "active scene".

Vlad TV reported today that "Ice Cube and 2Pac affiliate Gonzoe was shot and killed near a Seattle-area gas station.

"While information is scarce, it appears Gonzoe sustained three gunshot wounds after being shot near Roxbury Lanes."

  • SHOT SEVERAL TIMES IN THE CHEST - COPS

    Gonzoe, 45, was shot three times in the chest, reports TMZ.

    King's County Sheriff's Office is understood to still be hunting a gunman, who reportedly gunned down the rapper overnight near a gas station in Seattle, Washington.

    After Gonzoe collapsed at Shell station at Roxbury, he was transported to Harborview with life threatening injuries.

    But there are unconfirmed reports swirling on social media that he died from his injuries.

  • GONZOE'S DEATH 'SHOCK TO FANS'

    The rapper "often kept his fans updated on social media.

    "It comes as no surprise that the news of his death has shocked many," writes HITC.

    Tributes include: “RIP to the West Coast legend Gonzoe! I remember blasting music from The Regime back in middle school. A true talent!”

    And this comment: “R.I.P Gonzoe…When I was a kid I had the Kausion album."

    'Cuba Badding Jnr' tweeted: "RIP #Gonzoe. That Kausion album was my soundtrack for a minute back in my younger days."

  • BID TO END GUN VIOLENCE

    Gonzoe released over ten solo projects, including his celebrated If I Live And Nothing Happens album in 1998, writes Revolt TV.

    The website adds: "The LA rapper was the co-CEO of Glovez Up Gunz Down, a celebrity boxing platform powered by Snoop Dogg.

    "The company also aims to teach boxing and end gun violence.

    "Gonzoe appeared in the inaugural match against comedian and Glovez Up Gunz Down co-CEO Boskoe100."

  • GUNNED DOWN AFTER STUDIO SESSION IN SEATTLE

    Boskoe was one of Gonzoe's first friends to report his death on social media.

    He share his condolences and reported what is alleged to have happened to the rapper before he was gunned down in Seattle.

    Boskoe claimed that Gonzoe left a late-night studio session to buy some food from a nearby bowling alley.

    While there, it's alleged that Gonzoe got into an altercation.

    He was reportedly followed outside the bowling alley, and fatally shot, Boskoe claimed.

    However, police have not confirmed what happened prior to his death.

  • GONZOE PUSHING GLOVES OVER BULLETS

    As per Gonzoe's Instagram, he led Glovez Up Gunz Down.

    The focus was to teach boxing - and help end rampant gun violence.

    He started the boxing league with Boskoe.

  • 'SHARE OF BEEFS'

    All Hip Hop explained that the rapper was an ex-member of Kausion, a group backed by Ice Cube, and prominent in the mid-1990s.

    Debut South Central Los Skanless, released on October 10, 1995, peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

    The website added: "Gonzoe had his share of beefs, but most of them ended amicably or even in the boxing ring as was the case with rival Boskoe.

    "He had changed his life considerably and began to offer positive, inspirational messages on his social media."

  • 'CONTROVERSIAL LIFE' OF RAPPER

    Gonzoe "lived a controversial life", said All Hip Hop.

    The website added today: "Gonzoe had his share of beefs, but most of them ended amicably or even in the boxing ring as was the case with rival Boskoe.

    "At that rumble, Snoop Dogg was the guest commentator."

  • 'LEGENDARY RAPPER MURDERED' - TWITTER

    "Legendary rapper Gonzoe" has allegedly been "murdered", All Hip Hop has announced on Twitter.

    The website adds: "Los Angeles vet Gonzoe has reportedly been murdered.

    "He was a former member of Kausion, a group backed by Ice Cube.

    "He also maintained a friendship with Tupac, as a member of the Outlawz. He was 45."

  • C-BO PAYS TRIBUTE TO GONZOE

    Rapper C-Bo is among those paying tribute to Gonzoe.

    He has shared a throwback pic of them both on Instagram.

    C-Bo wrote: "Damn I hate to have to say this. Rest In Peace @imgonzoe.

    "We really made history together bro. I feel for your son and family.

    "I hope somebody knows what happened and slide on it."

    Gonzoe’s distraught fans have flooded Twitter with tribute messages.

    Alpha Martin tweeted: “RIP Gonzoe. I remember hitting him up on MySpace for a verse and he actually responded.

    “Way outta my budget at the time I was a teenager but he understood and kept it humble.”

  • CLOSE TO SLAIN RAPPER TUPAC

    Gonzoe was a close pal of slain rapper Tupac Shakur.

    Tupac was gunned down on the Las Vegas strip in September 1996 while his rival nicknamed Biggie was killed in California six months later.

    Both murders have sparked conspiracy theories and remain unsolved.

    However, filmmaker Nick Broomfield, who made 2002 film Biggie and Tupac, says the jailing of record mogul Suge Knight has prompted witnesses to come forward.

    Knight was with Tupac when he was shot following a Mike Tyson fight in Vegas dying six days later.

    Yet, it's his alleged involvement in the murder of Biggie - real name Christopher Wallace - which Broomfield explores in the new doc Last Man Standing.

  • GONZOE 'COLLAPSED AT SHELL GAS STATION'

    Vlad TV said that the injured Gonzoe reportedly ran to a nearby Shell gas station where he collapsed, after being shot several times.

    A bullet-riddled vehicle was later found in the area, the website added.

    No official confirmation has as yet been given of the shotgun victim’s identity.

    The gunman is reportedly still at large, with KCSO describing it as an “active scene”.

    News of Gonzoe's unconfirmed death "first started surfacing on the internet on Friday evening", writes Celeb Pie.

    The website adds that he was a "rich rapper with a decent net worth".

    However, it's not known exactly how much he was worth.
