Political commentator Iain Dale snapped at Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh after discussing the Dominic Cummings saga.
The LBC radio presenter was one of the guests on Friday's edition of the ITV show as they discussed the latest news on the easing of the lockdown measures.
However, it didn't take long for talk to turn to that of Mr Cummings as Durham Constabulary's decision to take no further action after admitting that his drive to Barnard Castle "might" have been a "minor breach" of the strict measures.
Ranvir went on to point out that Durham Police have had the 'final word' on what happens to Mr Cummings and whether he faces legal action.
"It's interesting, isn't it, because Durham Police, who are at the centre of all of this really, because their final word is what we have to go on," she said.
"They actually didn't absolve Dominic Cummings of all guilt because they actually did say he was – they did caption it as 'minor' – that there certainly was a breach of the rules. But that he wouldn't be investigated."
But Iain that snapped at the presenter, telling her she needed to 'get her facts right' which left her visibly surprised.
He said: "Ranvir, you need to get this right! They did not say there was a breach of the rules, they said there may have been a minor breach of the rules. So let's be accurate in this."
Ranvir's co-host Ben Shephard then stepped in by adding: "Sorry Iain, aren't we led to believe that there may be, in legalise that they're saying that there are.
"There are a number of barristers that came out and said that that's their way of saying there has been a breach. I don't know if I've misunderstood that?"
Mr Cummings is still facing public scrutiny over his decision to travel on a 260-mile round trip to Durham during lockdown while his wife was believed to be ill with coronavirus.
However, following the Durham Police statement on Thursday, a Number 10 spokesperson said that the Prime Minister believed the issue to be "closed".
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
