Giovanna Fletcher has succeeded in camp because she is “doing it for all the busy mums” and to show how resilient they are, according to her brother.

TOWIE star Mario Falcone has been thrilled with Giovanna’s performance in the I’m A Celebrity camp.

He told the Mirror: “She is doing incredible, I’m so proud of her. The Gi that everyone is seeing is the Gi that I know - loving, funny, caring and warm to anyone she meets.

“When I’ve had my issues in the past with mental health, she was always there for me as a shoulder to essentially cry on. That’s just what she’s like, she always wants to make sure other people are happy and are being looked after. She’s a brilliant mum and you can really see it.”

With the eviction of Jessica Plummer, Gioavanna became the last female in camp.

Mario's proud as punch of his sister

Asked about the prospect of her being Queen of the castle, Mario said: “In our eyes she’s already won but I’d be so happy for her if she was officially crowned Queen of the Castle.

"She’s doing it for all the busy mums out there and to show just how resilient they are. She’s the only woman left and I really hope people vote for her.”

Tom Fletcher, who is married to Giovanna, says she has swapped “house full of boys for castle full of boys” as she is the last female standing.

He said of him and their three sons: “We’re doing alright, we miss mumma obviously, but we’re doing good, very proud. I guess she’s kind of in her element, she’s swapped a house full of boys for a castle full of boys.

She’ll get on fine, it’s what she’s used to.”

He has been watching every night urging her fans to vote and sons Buzz, six, Buddy, four and Max, two have also seen footage from the show the next morning because they are in bed when the show airs.

Proud hubby Tom gushed over her resilience

He added: “Watching the boys watch their mum is the most incredible thing.

They’re so excited to see her, they love watching everyone getting covered in bugs. From a kids’perspective, it’s such an exciting show and seeing their mum go through that, she’s their hero now, if she wasn’t already. It’s amazing.”

Asked if he’d learnt anything about his wife he didn’t know before, he confessed: “I didn’t know I wasn’t her first kiss – so that was a bit of a shock, so thanks for that honey.

“And thanks to Vernon we have to renew our wedding vows now too.”

Like Mario he also praised Giovanna’s resilience, but he was not surprised by this.

Speaking on ITV Hub’s Daily Drop, Tom said: “She’s tough, it takes a lot to make her crack. Nothing really fazes her. If I was in the camp, she’s exactly the type of campmate I’d need. The song she picked for her luxury item, she’s always trying to bring a group together and lift everyone’s spirit.

She's one of the favourites to win

"It’s amazing seeing everyone else discover what I already know about her, how amazing and how kind she is. It’s incredible seeing her campmates and the rest of the country discover that about her. She’s an amazing person.”

Of seeing her cry when she missed out on a message from home he said:

“Obviously it’s heart-breaking seeing your partner, the person that you love, upset. It’s really heart-breaking. But we are all just cheering her on. I sat and watched that with our eldest son Buzz and we were both cheering her on and then seeing her happy again. Shane shared his chocolate with her and chocolate makes her happy so I knew she’d be happy after that.”
