The biggest show of the last decade almost didn't have one of its most beloved stars.
In a new cast reunion hosted by presenter Conan O’Brien in Belfast, Ireland for the Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection, award-winning actor Peter Dinklage revealed that there were two stipulations that he had before agreeing to play Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.
According to Uproxx in the interviews on the boxset, Dinklage revealed: "I met with [David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] in Los Angeles, and I said a couple of things that I didn’t want before I read anything."
But what would have stopped Dinklage portraying the character that he has won worldwide fame and acclaim for?
"I didn't want a very long beard. And I didn’t want pointy shoes, so they gave them to Conleth [Hill]."
Conleth Hill, who portrays Tyrion's friend Varys on the show, also revealed that Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin gave him a letter before he started filming the series.
But what did Martin tell him about Varys?
"He said ultimately I’m a good person," Hill revealed
Dinklage had no idea about the letter and said "What the f*ck?"
Elsewhere, Kit Harington also revealed a fun story from the set of the fantasy drama.
The Jon Snow actor said: "There will be a few in the crew that remember this and John as well.
"But we were in Iceland, and I think it was windchill minus 40. And I remember, I remember it being dangerous and John’s face froze, like, literally froze.
"If you look back, the continuity doesn’t work at all. It cuts away from him and he’s normal, and it cuts back and he looks like Father Time."
We would never have known!
