Manchester City had the perfect game plan to beat Chelsea on Saturday, striker Gabriel Jesus says, as the forward challenged his teammates to keep their focus for two more huge fixtures this week.

After a well-earned 1-0 win at Premier League rivals Chelsea, City travel to Paris to face PSG on Tuesday before returning for a trip to Anfield against Liverpool next weekend.

Jesus got the goal that ensured City have started that formidable run in winning fashion, and now he wants two more big performances against world-class opposition.

“It’s been amazing. We prepared the game with the goal to win it," he explained.

"It’s not easy to play here against the reigning champions of Europe. We came here to play one of the best teams in Europe right now. It’s great to come here and play a good game, not only because we won, but also because the way we did it, we created a lot of chances

“Chelsea are a very strong team. They have a lot of great players, not only the defenders, also in the midfield and up front. That’s why they won the Champions League last season, among other things. To come here, play the way we did and win, the three points is a massive achievement for us. It shows that we can go to any ground, play at our level and win.

"When we play like that, with that confidence, we can achieve anything. Chelsea is a team that defends really well. But we could come here and create a lot of chances and win the three points. It’s very important for us.”

Looking ahead to PSG and Liverpool, Jesus said the schedule was 'maybe' the craziest week he's faced in his career as he looked for focus as the starting point for more success.

"We have three very difficult games," he explained.

"We have just played the current Champions League winners. On Tuesday we are going to face one of the main favourites to win the Champions League, PSG. They signed great players over the summer and they have a very strong side. Finally, on Sunday we’ll face Liverpool, one of the best teams in the world over the last few years.

"We know it’s going to be a difficult week. But we have to go step by step, focus on the next game and try to win it.”
