If you’re a fan of stargazing, make sure you book this evening off in your diary.
A Full Strawberry Moon is set to appear tonight, and you don’t want to miss it!
A full moon occurs when the moon is located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun, meaning its face is fully illuminated.
The lunar spectacle should be visible across the UK, although the weather in your area may affect how clear and bright your view is.
The Met Office website says: “Rain and strong winds in the north moving into Northern Ireland and northern England. Some coastal gales likely here. Further south a few showers but a dry night for many.”
Here’s a round-up of the weather forecast for the best viewing spots across the UK tonight.
Weather forecast for best viewing spots across UK tonight
North East - People in the North East of England can expect rain in the evening, with showers for much of the night
North West - While rain is also expected in the North West of England, showers will briefly ease before heavy rain pushes south across the region
Central - There may be a few lingering showers through the evening, but the remainder of the night will be dry and clear for most
South East - Good news for Brits in the South East of England - conditions will be dry and clear overnight, meaning you should get a great view of the Strawberry Moon!
South West - A mostly dry and clear night across the region, and while there could be the odd shower, you should get a good view of the Strawberry Moon
Scotland - Unfortunately, the Met Office predicts rain and cloud across much of Scotland this evening, which could make it tricky to see the Strawberry Moon
Wales - The Met Office predicts cloud and rain across Wales tonight, so you’ll have to be eagle-eyed to spot the Strawberry Moon
Northern Ireland - While there’s expected to be some late brightness this evening, it’s expected to become cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain overnight
