Frankie & Benny’s has revealed a full list of restaurants across the UK which will be reopening for click and collect, delivery and dine-in services from this July and they include those in Newcastle, Gateshead and Stockton.
The news will be welcomed by fans of the Italian-American-theme chain following its announcement just days ago of the closure of 125 of its branches amid struggling times for the dining industry, compounded by the effects of the coronavirus crisis.
Among the closures are five in the North East - at John Dobson Street in Newcastle; Cramlington in Northumberland; The Galleries Shopping Centre in Washington, and the Arnison Centre and Dalton Park in Murton, both Durham.
Branches at Eldon Square in Newcastle; Gateshead Metrocentre and Stockton are among those which have escaped closure and they now feature in the company's list of reopenings for click and collect and delivery services as well as dine-in.
There is no news yet on the branches at North Shields or at Boldon Colliery in South Tyneside.
Frankie & Benny’s has already opened some of its restaurants for dine-in across the country but the new wave will include some in the North East for the first time. Those that opened earlier, on July 17, are at Chesterfield; Dudley; Lincoln; Merryhill; Peterborough and Doncaster.
The company is planning to announce more reopenings in the coming weeks.
Eldon Square - the restaurant will be opening for click and collect and delivery on July 27 and for dine-in from July 30. Keep an eye out here.
Metrocentre - this will be opening for click and collect and delivery on July 27 and dine-in from July 30. See here.
Stockton On Tees
Teesside Retail Park - the branch will be opening for click and collect and delivery on July 20 and for dine-in from July 23. See here.
Customers wanting to dine-in will be asked to book in advance and give their contact details which will be stored for 21 days.
They can expect to find social distancing measures, single-use menus and enhanced cleaning in place, while contactless payment is being encouraged.
Staff will undergo health screening and will be washing their hands regularly. Over the first weeks, customers will be asked to give feedback about their experience to help the company make improvements.
