Manchester United have reportedly been offered Alvaro Morata. It's possible he'll team up with Fred just weeks after their preseason showdown.
The Spanish player is back in the capital after his two-year absence atJuventus. Atlético has one year left on his Madrid contract. According to ESPN, the LaLiga outfit could cut losses and with United looking for a striker, thePremier offered him for his Leagueoutfit. Morata has previously played in England's top league for Chelsea, but he struggled with consistent performances and production. Nonetheless, with time running out, the Red Devils may have to pursue several alternative options, and Morata could be among them.
Morata played for Atlético less than two weeks ago, in a pre-season friendly against United. Fred was sent off for his second yellow card after the forwards were stamped in a match won by the Spaniards.
The incident occurred during the final stages of a pre-season friendly in Oslo. Fred hacked Morata's ankle first and stayed out of the ball. As the striker fell to the floor and collected the ball in his arms, Fred lashed out with a stamp leading to Morata's right thigh, clearly expecting the referee to blow the whistle for the first foul.
If the striker swoops in, we might see him and Fred paired up for preseason events. The United midfielder started in the first game of Eric's ten his Hug, suffering surprise defeats to Brighton and Hove's Albion on Sunday.
