A fourth person has been charged with the murder of a man in Wigan.

Steven McNyler was found with serious injuries by members of the public outside Wigan Parish Church on August 6.

The 34-year-old died at the scene.

Michael Callam Wilson, 20, of Northfield Close, Kirkby, Merseyside has been charged with joint-enterprise murder and robbery.

He will appear at Manchester magistrates' court today

Two boys, aged 13 and 17, and Jordan Short, 19, have previously appeared in court charged with Mr McNyler's murder.

All three are due to next appear at Manchester Crown Court on February 1.

In a statement previously released by the police, Mr McMyler's family paid tribute to him.

They said: "Steven was an extremely likeable lad, and everyone who came across him loved him as much as we all did. He was a popular lad, and he lit the room up as soon as he walked in.

"Everybody thought the world of him, as he had a heart of gold."
