Former Manchester United player Ravel Morrison has joined ADO Den Haag, the club have confirmed.

The 27-year-old became a free agent this summer after Sheffield United turned down the chance to renew his contract at the club.

Morrison ended up just making four appearances for the Blades before going on loan to Middlesbrough.

ADO Den Haag will be hoping to get the best out of the playmaker and tweeted the announcement of his signing today, explaining: "Creative midfielder Ravel Morrison (27) signs a contract with ADO Den Haag until the end of the season. #WelcomeRavel."

The hope was that he would get himself back on track at Sheffield United after an underwhelming career to date from the former United academy star.

Morrison was regarded as one of the Reds' brightest talents in 2010, with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand having admitted how good the midfielder was in his youth days alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United made waves with the high-profile signing of Dutch wonder Donny van de Beek - and a lot is expected of him at Old Trafford.

With a new man to shine in the Norwegian's XI, you certainly won't want to miss a thing.

But United let him join West Ham in 2012 after losing patience with the player and his career has been that of a journeyman since.

He spent time on loan at Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff whilst at West Ham before joining Lazio in 2015.

QPR would again be a loan destination of Morrison's alongside Atlas before he left for Ostersund permanently and then the Blades, with a loan stint at Boro mixed in.
